- Which steel mill and grade? What hardness after heat treatment? Do you provide material certificates and heat treatment reports?
- We select materials per product requirements and deliver with full transparency: Steel grade:For optical/transparent parts -Sweden ASSAB S136 SUP (or equivalent import), HRC 48-52.For structural parts-Baosteel SWG 718H pre-hardened,HRC 33-37. Documentation: Supplied with original mill certificates, our in-house heat treatment furnace temperature curves, and per-piece hardness inspection records. Core components (cores, slides) are stamped with serial numbers for lifetime traceability.
- Do you heat-treat core components (cores, slides) in-house or outsource? How is the process controlled?
- All critical heat treatment is performed in our wholly-owned heat treatment workshop -never subcontracted to small shops. Process controls include: Vacuum quenching + cryogenic treatment for minimal distortion; Furnace coupons per batch with metallographic inspection to ensure grain size compliance; Minimum two tempering cycles post-quench to relieve stress. We stand behind our process.
- What is the design life in shots?
- Design life is contractually guaranteed: S136 high-polish molds: 1,000,000+ shots. 718H class: 500,000+ shots (excluding normal wear). Warranty: typically 18 months after mold acceptance or first 80% of design life, whichever comes first. During this period, any non-human-induced core cracking, slide fracture, ejector plate deformation, etc., will be remade or repaired free of charge, with downtime labor costs compensated per agreed rates.
- How are the cooling channels routed? Straight-line or conformal cooling? What mold temperature uniformity do you guarantee?
- Cooling design is the core of efficiency and yield. Our approach: Mold flow analysis first to optimize cooling, delivering a 'Cooling Time vs. Mold Temperature Uniformity'report. Conformal cooling inserts (laser-sintered) or high-efficiency beryllium-copper inserts for hot spots and deep cavities;straight/baffle channels elsewhere.Critical zone temperature variance kept within plus or minus 3 degree Celsius Guaranteed improvement: Our cooling solution can reduce cycle time by 10-25% vs. convent
- How many cavities do you recommend? Provide a comparison of 1-cavity vs. 2-cavity: output, yield, and mold cost.
- We don't push -we present an investment analysis: Option A (1+1):Lower mold cost, easy maintenance, stable yield - ideal for fluctuating order volumes. Option B (1+2): ~80% higher mold cost, but ~25% lower per-unit cost and doubled output - ideal for stable high-volume orders. We'll provide total mold price, estimated cycle time, daily output, and payback period for both, so you can decide based on your order forecast.
- What hot runner brand? Manifold heating method? Include extra thermocouples and heater bands as spares.
- We only use field-proven brands: Brands: YUDO, HRS, Mould-Tip, BEST, SURE. Manifolds use integrated tubular heaters or embedded cartridge heaters for uniform thermal distribution. Standard spares included free: 2 full sets of thermocouples (all specs), 2 sets of heater bands (main nozzle + manifold), and 1 set of manifold seals.
- Must the trial run be at your factory? Can I bring my molding technician to watch and measure dimensions on-site?
- Absolutely -this is our standard service: The entire trial is open to you. We strongly recommend bringing your molding tech and QC inspector; using your designated injection machine is even better. We have CMM and vision measurement equipment on-site -parts are inspected immediately, and dimensional reports are confirmed on the spot. We only proceed to the next step after you sign off the trial report.
- If your machining equipment fails, do you have backup partner factories? How do you guarantee my delivery date?
- We have a robust contingency mechanism: Capacity-sharing and emergency collaboration agreements with 3 peer mold shops. Critical equipment - 5-axis CNC, wire EDM, die spotting presses - all have backup resources. If primary equipment fails, backup activates within 4 hours, machining data syncs via cloud, and maximum schedule deviation is capped at 2 working days. You will be notified immediately -we never leave you in the dark.
- Provide a wear-parts list with part numbers and suppliers. How many spare sets are included with the mold?
- Standard spare parts delivered with the mold: Wear-parts list: Detailed breakdown of ejector pins, sleeves, slide wear plates, springs, locating rings- including part numbers and OEM suppliers. Included free: 2 pieces of each ejector pin and sleeve spec, full spring set, 1 set of wear plates, 1 spare set of hot runner heating elements, plus assorted water fittings and plugs. Ready for stable production from day one- no extra parts to source.
